Time for new goals...

Since I was able to complete my goal last year (a goal started later in the year, August to be exact), I am going to set myself another goal. I figure if I can complete 12 quilts in 5 months then I should be able to complete the next goal I set.

My goal for 2011 is to quilt the 7 quilt tops I have made. Two of the 7 quilt tops need borders added, but other than that they are ready to be quilted. I have 2 tops not part of the 7 that are in various stages. One is partially done, this was started at MQX in April 2010 (the feathered star) and the other one is my friendship blocks from my guild (under the sea blocks).

Well to start out, my friend Tracy and I purchased a pattern to make a "pooper scooper" last August, but it may have been April, not sure. Anyways, we finally made the scooper. It took several hours to make, but we are very happy with the results. This is not quite a project in progress, but it is a project that we wanted to get done.

This is a picture of our pooper scoopers:

I did it....

I got all 12 quilts done in time for the wedding tomorrow. I can not believe I did it. My youngest grandson was admitted to the hospital early this morning so my plans to finish the final 3 pillowcases were put on hold but I was able to get them done tonight. Boy, do I feel good that I got these done. Now, hopefully, I will be able to work on a few of my own projects.

Here are the final pics. Enjoy and Happy New Year. WooHoo!!

One more...

One more set of pictures. This will be all the quilts except for the 2 that still need the bindings.

More pictures...

Looks like I'll have to post these pictures in several posts, so bear with me.

Getting down to the wire

Can you believe that it is only 6 days until Christmas? I certainly can't. I can't say that I have reached my personal goal but I'm really pleased with my progress. I got the majority of my goal completed.

I have completely finished 8 quilts. My 9th and 10th quilts are completed quilted but they need their bindings sewn on. I will need to get those put on over the next week because we are going to see the grandchildren on New Year's Day. So, all quilts must be done by then.

For now, here are the pictures of the 8 completed quilts. During my last trip to see my mother in FL, I purchased a cheap sewing machine to keep down there and made pillowcases to match the completed quilts.

He is here

Tyler James has graced us with his presence on November 21st. He and mom both are healthy. He, of course, is a beauty.

I finished 6 quilts, now I am working on quilting quilt #7 and #8. I made top #8 yesterday, and loaded the two on the frame today. I was going to attempt to start to quilt them today but I had a visit from my daughter and her family. Of course, quilting gets put aside when the kids come to visit. I love it when they visit.

If I can get the next 4 tops made over the next couple of weeks, I just may make my goal. If not, it will be shortly thereafter.

I have to make another trip down to Florida. Mom is home and I need to go down there and do a few things for her. Once that trip is over, then I can finish up my quilts for Christmas.

I have a wonderful friend that is doing the blind stitch on all these quilts. I will have to make sure I reward her big time for all the help that she has given me. I will take pictures of my last 2 when I get them back from my friend. I will take pictures of the two on the frame when I am done quilting them.

It is starting to get really cold here. The wood stove has been burning for awhile now. I hate that wood stove. My darling hubby loves to get that stove good and hot and I usually die from the heat. I either end up going downstairs to my room or opening a door, that's how hot he gets it. He works in a garage all day, so that is the reason for the hot air in the winter. Arrrggghhh, can't breathe.

I'm getting there

Well I have 5 quilts quilted and I am working on my 6th one. I know I most likely won't reach my personal goal to have the 12 quilts of Christmas done, but I am still trying to get as much done as I possibly can.

I have a new grandchild that is due to be born any day now. My daughter's due date is November 17th and she's been having Braxton Hicks contractions this whole week. The doctor says that this is just a sign that her body is getting ready for the actual labor and delivery of the new baby. We don't know what she is having but whatever sex the baby is, it doesn't matter as long as the baby is healthy. I already have one graddaughter. She is such a joy.

My mom is slowly recovering too. She is finally in a rehab center and getting herself ready to come home. We are hoping that she will be home by Thanksgiving. Once she is home I will have to make another trip to FL, so again that will set me back a little. Oh well, gotta do what ya gotta do. I will take pictures of the most recent pictures as soon as the binding is done.
